Universal Mounting System (UMS)
The Universal Mounting System (UMS) is DJM's standardized, interchangeable mounting interface for ACTIV™ and Pasif™ EMI filters. It turns filter installation into a quick, one-hole operation — no complex cut-outs or bespoke hardware — while letting you adapt the penetration length on-site to match any shield wall construction and thickness.
Why it matters: With a common threaded hub on the filter and a family of threaded penetration pipes, you can stock one filter and choose the penetration length that fits the job regardless of sheet metal, modular panels, acoustical panels, or poured concrete. Swap lengths in minutes; the filter body, flange nut, gasket, and wall opening stay the same.
- Simple installation: Drill one circular hole, insert, and tighten the flange nut. DONE!
- Fits any wall thickness: Interchangeable pipes (1", 3", 9", 12"; custom available) cover most scenarios.
- Clean RF seal: Hub + pipe + gasket provide an RF-tight penetration when properly installed.
- Works across DJM filters: Shared UMS hub on ACTIV™ and Pasif™ platforms for consistent installs.

How It Works
Each ACTIV™ or Pasif™ filter incorporates a UMS mounting hub. You then attach the appropriate UMS penetration pipe (eg 1", 3", 9" or 12") and thread the RF gasket on. The penetration is passed through the shield wall assembly and tightened down with a flange nut to make an RF-tight seal. To accommodate different wall thicknesses, simply unthread the current pipe and swap in a different length — no changes to the filter or the wall opening.

- 1-20 UNEF-2B internal (penetration pipe)
UMS Penetration Pipe
- Outside Diameter: 1.315" (use 1 3/8" hole saw)
- Thread: 1" NPS
- Material & Finish: Aluminum 6061-T6, electroless-nickel plated
Penetration Lengths
- Standard: 1", 3", 9", 12" (25.4, 76.2, 228.6, 304.8 mm)
- Custom: Custom lengths available on request.
Installation Summary
- Drill a single circular hole (1 3/8" hole saw) at the desired penetration location.
- Thread on the UMS penetration pipe length that matches the wall thickness and construction.
- Fit the RF gasket on the penetration snug against the filter body.
- Insert penetration through the wall opening.
- Thread on the flange nut and tighten enough to create an RF-tight seal without over-compressing the gasket.
