Passive Ethernet EMI Filter
The Pasif 1G is a passive RJ-45 Ethernet EMI filter built for SCIF retrofits, ICD-705 compliance upgrades, TEMPEST installations, shielded equipment racks, and portable EMC test chambers. Cascading passive LC filter stages deliver better than 80dB of insertion loss from 550MHz to 40GHz, with better than 90dB from 700MHz to 30GHz, suppressing both radiated and conducted emissions on 10Base-T, 100Base-T, and 1000Base-T Ethernet over standard CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling. Power over Ethernet passes transparently when supplied by an upstream PoE switch or injector. The same 8-line architecture doubles as a general-purpose filter for DC power, RS-232, and low-voltage control signals up to 500mA per line when paired with a DJM RJ-45 to terminal block adapter. No external power. No active electronics. No internal emissions inside the shielded enclosure. Machined from solid aluminum with electroless nickel plating. Made in the USA.
80dB Insertion Loss.
No Power Required.
The Pasif 1G uses cascading passive LC filter stages to deliver better than 80dB of insertion loss from 550MHz to 40GHz, with better than 90dB from 700MHz to 30GHz, all with zero signal degradation and zero added latency on 10Base-T, 100Base-T, and 1000Base-T Ethernet. Because the filter contains no active electronics, it generates no internal emissions inside the shielded enclosure, a meaningful advantage over fiber media converters that radiate at the very frequencies where shielding integrity matters most.
Power over Ethernet passes through transparently when supplied by an upstream PoE switch or injector, supporting downstream IP cameras, VoIP phones, and access control devices. Unlike the ACTIV POE, which generates and filters PoE in a single enclosure, the Pasif 1G acts as a pass-through only and draws no power of its own. For non-Ethernet applications, the same 8 filtered lines accept DC power, RS-232, and other low-voltage signals up to 500mA per line when paired with a DJM RJ-45 to terminal block adapter, turning standard CAT cabling into a secure, shielded conduit for any low-current signal through the enclosure wall.
